Devil Tomato Appears at Le Port.

A strange fruit appeared at Le Port this summer, more on this will be found, plus a photograph, on: http://deviltomatoe.blogspot.com/ Yes, I know tomato does not have an "e" on the end...
This fruit may be of special interest to Classicists with an Ovidian bent... Does anyone know the story of this tomato?
