Each day six thousand canoes,

Carnival floats

In misty woodlands

Giant black slugs copulate:

Discarded hair bands.

Woodlands below L'orgue du ... which we never saw because of low cloud. This was the day we terporarily abandoned the walk at Lescun for four days to recover from exhaustion at Le Port.

At the mountain hut:

Sunset, walkers and climbers,

White wine, your quiet.

Refuge de Beylessance, Thursday 26th July.
To reach the refuge the Jurancon white wine had to be carried either on the warden's back or was delivered annually by helicopter.
